After earning a BA in Fine Arts from Harvard University and an MFA in Film from Columbia University, I was an executive producer of television commercials at the Harold Friedman Consortium, a production company in Manhattan, and then vice president of Interactive Picture Systems, an early computer graphics developer. As a mother of two young daughters, I became a writer and then an editor at Big Apple Parent, Queens Parent, Westchester Parent, Family Communications and Davler Media. In time, my career expanded, leading me to report for the New York Times and other notable publications while also co-authoring and publishing a book-length memoir. I continue to write and publish my short memoirs in literary journals, and to mentor and nurture a community of memoirists in my role as a memoir-writing teacher.
